Tomasz has over two decades of on-air experience as a broadcast meteorologist across flagship BBC news services. Alongside this, he works as a science communicator, presenter, keynote speaker and fine artist running an independent creative business, Schafernaker Art.

He has sold over 300 original artworks across acrylic, oil, watercolour, digital art and animation, including pieces auctioned twice at charity fundraisers at Christie's.

As a speaker and moderator, he has appeared at events for Lloyd's of London, the Royal Academy of Engineering, insurance and tech events, as well as educational and public settings.

He approaches every project with a combination of scientific rigour and artistic instinct, pairing analytical thinking with imagination, visual arts and storytelling.

Beyond art and broadcasting, Tomasz has appeared on Celebrity MasterChef, Would I Lie To You, BBC Civilisations, Sky Arts Celebrity Portrait Artist Of The Year, and won Celebrity Landscape Artist Of the Year in 2021. He has also featured on the National Geographic Channel, Discovery, Travel Channel and TVP.

Born in Gdańsk, Poland, in 1979, Tomasz graduated from the University of Reading in 2000 with a BSc in Meteorology, before training at the Met Office College and an RAF base to qualify as a forecaster. He first appeared on regional BBC television in 2001, making him the youngest male to present the weather for the network.
